Yes. JA Dental Care is accepting new patients. Call us and we’ll help you find an appointment time that works for you.
When possible, we do our best to see urgent problems, such as tooth pain, swelling, or broken teeth as soon as we can. Call the office and let us know what’s going on so we can advise you.
Absolutely. Many of our patients feel anxious at first. We move at a calm pace, explain each step before we begin, and check in often so you always feel in control.
We start with a comprehensive evaluation required to understand your oral health. We review findings clearly, explain options, and recommend next steps based on your goals and comfort level.
Most patients do well with visits every six months. If you have gum disease, a lot of existing dental work, or certain medical conditions, we may recommend more frequent cleanings to keep things under control.
Cleanings shouldn’t be painful, but you might feel some sensitivity if your gums are inflamed or it’s been a long time since your last visit. Let us know how you’re feeling, we can slow down, use numbing gel, or adjust our approach.
A regular cleaning removes plaque and tartar above the gumline. A deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) is a more thorough treatment used when tartar has built up under the gums and gum disease is present. If you need it, we’ll explain why and what to expect.
Gingivitis (early gum disease) can often be reversed with professional cleanings and good home care. More advanced periodontitis can’t be fully reversed, but treatment can stop it from getting worse and help keep your teeth longer.
We use local anesthetic (numbing) during deep cleanings so you should feel a little pressure, but not sharp pain. Some soreness afterward is normal and usually mild; we’ll give you simple tips to make recovery easier.
Most periodontal patients do best with maintenance visits every 3-4 months. We’ll recommend a schedule based on how your gums respond and your overall health.
After an exam and X-rays, we’ll show you what we see and explain your choices. Small areas of decay may only need a filling, while larger cracks or heavy wear often do better with a crown. We’ll walk through each option together.
Tooth-colored fillings work very well for many areas of the mouth and look more natural. In spots that take very heavy biting forces, we may still recommend a different material. We’ll explain why and let you decide.
